Stegmann Absolute Encoder
Type: AG 60 L
Article Number: 4M1H20901K00
Serial Number: 3A0001951
1. General Description
The Stegmann AG 60 L is a robust, 60mm-body absolute single-turn encoder. It is designed for industrial applications requiring a non-volatile position value. This encoder provides the exact shaft position immediately on power-up, as it does not lose its position when power is lost.
This model features a 512-step (9-bit) resolution, a Parallel Gray code interface, and a wide-range low-voltage supply. The solid shaft and face-mount flange make it a durable solution for machinery, automation, and control systems.
Key Features 🎯
- Absolute Encoder: Provides a unique digital value for every shaft position (single-turn).
- Parallel Interface: Outputs data using a Gray code parallel signal.
- Resolution: 512 steps per revolution (9-bit).
- Wide Voltage Range: Operates on a flexible 4.75 … 18 VDC supply.
- Robust Housing: 60 mm industrial housing with a solid shaft and face-mount flange.
- Pre-cabled: Includes an integrated cable for direct wiring.

3. Wiring & Connection
This encoder uses a parallel Gray code interface via its attached cable. The connection requires power, ground, and one wire for each of the 9 data bits.
- Power (UP = US):
- +VDC: Connect to 4.75 – 18 VDC
- 0V (GND): Connect to 0V (Common)
- Data (GRAY):
- 9x Data Wires (Bit 0 to Bit 8): These wires represent the 9-bit parallel Gray code output. Each wire corresponds to a single bit of the position value.
