telemecanique Preventa Safety Relay Expansion
Type: XPS-AX Reference: XPSAX5120
1. General Description
The XPSAX5120 is a safety output expansion module from the Telemecanique Preventa family (now part of Schneider Electric). It is designed to be used in conjunction with a primary safety relay (e.g., XPS-AK, XPS-AR) to increase the number of available safety outputs. This module does not perform any safety logic itself; it is controlled directly by the master safety relay, and its outputs mirror the state of the master.
This allows for the safe switching of a larger number of circuits or higher-power loads within a single safety function, such as an emergency stop or guard switch circuit.
Key Features
- Output Expansion: Adds five additional normally open (NO) safety-rated relay outputs to a safety system.
- Simple Integration: Connects directly to a primary safety relay for straightforward system expansion.
- Forcibly Guided Contacts: The internal relays use forcibly guided (or mechanically linked) contacts, a key requirement for safety circuits.
- LED Status Indication: An integrated LED provides a visual indication of the output status.
- Compact Design: The 22.5 mm wide housing saves space on a DIN rail.
