Rechner Capacitive Proximity Sensor

Series: KAS-80

1. General Description

This is a cylindrical capacitive proximity sensor from the Rechner KAS-80 series. It is designed for the non-contact detection of both metallic and non-metallic materials, making it highly versatile. Common applications include level sensing of liquids and bulk solids (e.g., granules, powders) through non-metallic container walls, or the presence detection of objects like wood, plastic, and glass.

This model features a non-flush (non-embeddable) design for maximum sensing range, a 24VDC supply, and a normally open output.

Key Features 🎯

  • Capacitive Sensing: Detects a wide variety of materials, including liquids, powders, plastics, and metals.
  • Adjustable Sensitivity: Typically features a potentiometer for fine-tuning the sensing distance to suit different materials and applications.
  • Non-Flush Design: The protruding sensing face provides an extended detection range.
  • Standard Connection: Equipped with a short pigtail cable and an industry-standard M12 connector for easy installation.
  • Visual Status Indicator: An integrated LED provides a clear indication of the switching state.

2. Technical Specifications
